For years, I woke up and reached for my phone before I even reached for my thoughts.
My mornings started with other people’s opinions, inboxes screaming for attention, dopamine hits from likes and half-read news.
I thought I was staying “informed.” But really - I was overstimulated, overconnected, and emotionally exhausted.
One day, I snapped. Not in a dramatic way. Just… quietly. I couldn’t think clearly. Couldn’t feel anything. It felt like my inner voice was buried under a thousand notifications.
So I did something radical (for me): I logged out.
Not forever. Not in a performative way. Just… enough to remember who I am when I’m not performing.
I sat with silence. Walked without headphones. Let my brain get bored.
And that boredom? It gave birth to clarity. To creativity. To real conversations I didn’t know I missed.
The digital detox didn’t just save my attention - it’s been saving my sanity.
No, I’m not anti-tech. But I’m done letting screens hijack my peace.
Real life is quieter. But it’s also deeper. And I want more of that.
If you're feeling overwhelmed, overstimulated, or like your attention span has gone missing…
Try logging off - not forever, but long enough to hear yourself again.
