How to link domain with blogger

STEP-1

Blogger is publishing platform offered by Google  free for the users at no cost. It does not allow any changes in hosting, means you cannot host blog to other server like WordPress, you can only redirect your URL address from blogspot.com

It is very easy to do these changing in your blogger by taking some ideas from this post that will 100% satisfy your search.

Just Follow the steps that is recommended to link blogs to your domain successfully  using purchased domain from Big Rock.

After registering Domains we need to do setup for the DNS and CNAME and A-records etc.

Here I have my domain name purchased and will setup for linking blog to it:

www.softechalert.com

STEP-1

When you will purchase the domain and login to your account go to List of orders like shown in below image.

Click on your domain to move to next Step

STEP-2

Scroll down the page and you will see DNS management heading

Click  on Manage DNS and move to next step.

STEP-3

After clicking on DNS management a page will be opened may be in new browser or in same tab that will show you list of Address A Records:

Click on Add A record and move to next step.

STEP-4

Under A Records it will show to fill 3 columns with blank Host Name, Destination IPv4 and TTL.

You need to change on Destination IPv4 Address only and shown in figure below:

IPv4 Address: 216.239.32.21 

Leave Host Name blank

Do not change the value of TTL.

And click on Add A Record.

STEP-5

You will see that A record has been successfully added to you page but little more patience as you need to Add 3 more extra records, just you need to change IPv4 Address for the next three IPv4

Please do not change these IPv4 as it is predefined by the Big Rock domains for linking:

216.239.34.21

216.239.36.21

216.239.38.21

STEP-6

Now the turn is for CNAME

Here you have to entered two CNAME Records one is below and other is in next step:

On top   click on CNAME Records tabs in same page

In CNAME page click add CNAME Records

In Host Name type www

In Value click on second radio button and type ghs.google.com

In TTL Please do not change the value

And Click on Add Record.

STEP-7

Now for second CNAME Record you need to go to your blogger by sign in and go to setting menu that is on left side  slide.

In basic tab third party domain setting enter the domain address, in this case my domain is www.softechlert.com.

Note: If you have purchased the domain within one hour then you may face error otherwise proceed to next step

After entering your domain, two values will come below your domain address like shown in image below:

Copy the value that is rectangled with green mark one by one and paste it to CNAME record that will be the second CNAME Record.

STEP-8

Here paste the first value in Host Name and 2nd value to the second radio button of the value and do not change the TTL Value.

After entering click on Add records:

Now Finally Your domain is linked with blog successfully, it may take 4-5 hours officially to function a domain correctly but it can be activated in next 10 mints, so don't worry about it.

After activating domain still it will not function redirecting properties means if you open your domain with blogspot.com extension it will not redirect you to your domain so again go to setting------> Basic Setting--->  softechalert.blogspot.com(YOUR DOMAIN.blogspot.com)---- Click on Edit shown in image: 

Check the redirect checkbox as shown in image below and click on save button

Congratulations!!!
